Museum of Games Ireland (MOGI) Donations Form

MOGI is dedicated to the preservation, conservation, curation, digitisation, and presentation of objects and paraphernalia relating to the Modern Tabletop Gaming Hobby. Accordingly, please ensure your proposed donation has a connection to that mission statement. MOGI reserve the right to reject any donation which falls outside the express remit of the museum. MOGI wish to thank you sincerely for your consideration to donate and hope that the following form is straightforward and captures your hopes and intention for the object.

Ownership Option

Donation to be vested in the Museum – this means the item is a gift to the Museum and all ownership rights are freely transferred to the Museum.
On Loan – a Loan Agreement must be entered into between the Donor and the Director of MOGI.

While MOGI will take every appropriate steps to ensure the safety of the donation, objects held On Loan are done so at the owner’s risk. The owner may withdraw the item on loan through engagement with the museum.

Deaccession preference

Should de-accession occur (i.e. circumstances requiring the disposal of your donation) MOGI will, in the first instance, notify you through your preferred contact option, subject to the Disposal Policy. You may assist us in this by indicating a preference in this section. Options could range from onward donation to a specified body, return of the item(s) to the owner or owner’s estate, etc. While MOGI will take all appropriate steps to honour the preference here, subject to the Disposal Policy and specific circumstances at the time of de-accession, it is accepted that what is written here is a preference and not a binding agreement in any way.

Any Other Notes

Completion of this form does not automatically provide for the acceptance of a proposed donation. MOGI remains open and welcome to any direct engagement around a proposed donation prior to any completion of this form and remains on hand to assist with the form’s completion if required. Electronic submission through mogi.ie shall be considered a signature by the item donor.
